Game to play at Arena, Brisbane – 16th February 2012

Able Touring is thrilled to announce that Game will be hitting cities across Australia in February 2012 in support for The R.E.D. Album Tour. Tickets go on sale 9am Thursday December 1.

Jayceon Terrell Taylor, known as Game (formerly The Game), grew up in Compton, California, in a gang neighbourhood. While recovering in the hospital from gunshot wounds in late 2001, he decided to put a mixtape together. It reached the hands of Dr Dre who signed him with 50 Cent and G-Unit. Game made his first appearance in the music video for 50 Cent’s “In da Club”. He then went on to make numerous cameo appearances in music videos by 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and Fabolous.

Game released his debut album, The Documentary, in 2005. It was a #1 Billboard 200 hit, going two times platinum. With several hit singles including “Westside Story” and “How We Do”, it was the single “Hate It or Love It” that shot him to instant stardom. This two-time Grammy nominated single, reached #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs chart and was nominated for a 2005 MTV Video Music Award in the category of Best Rap Video. Game was now a legitimate hip-hop star.

In 2006, Game released the successful follow up album, Doctor’s Advocate. The album debuted at # 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200, making it Game’s second number one album in a row. The singles “Wouldn’t Get Far”, produced by Kanye West and “Let’s Ride”, produced by Scott Storch, both reached the Billboard 100 Top R&B Hip Hop Albums chart.

Game continued his West Coast resurrection efforts with LAX. Released in 2008, it came within a hair of being the artist’s third #1 album on Billboard’s Rap/Hip-Hop Album chart, just 1000 copies behind metal band Slipknot’s All Hope is Gone. It included the platinum selling single, “My Life” featuring Lil Wayne.

Not satisfied with his music success after LAX, Game starred alongside Meagan Good and Tyrese in “Waist Deep”. The urban Bonnie and Clyde-like film opened on over 1,000 screens across the U.S. and grossed over $21,000,000.

Game’s most recent album, The R.E.D. Album, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart the week that it was released. R.E.D is said to stand for Game’s “REDedication” to both rap and family. It showcases production from Dr. Dre and DJ Premier and includes features from established south region stunners Big Boi, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross, that compliment Game’s West coast Collaborations with Snoop Dogg, E-40 and scorching newcomers Kendrick Lamar and Odd Future’s Tyler the Creator.

Game, who went from Gangsta to great musician right before our eyes, is considered to be the driving force in reviving the West Coast hip hop scene. He is the only international artist not named Snoop and the only Compton kingpin nowhere near 40-years-old with household name recognition worldwide. Game is without question the most efficient, marketable and saleable Hip Hop artist on the West Coast.

Game came to Australia for Supafest in April and wowed audiences so much that due to public demand is back to perform his own headline tour. Game will be performing all of his hits plus tracks from The R.E.D. Album. This night of street bangers and pop pleasers is a must-see for all fans!

This is an 18+ event.
