BORN RUFFIANS Australian Tour – January 2011 [Tour News]

Just as the midsummer season heats up, so too will Canadian natives, Born Ruffians, when they make their welcome return to our fair shores. With their infectious, raw live show in tow, the band will be playing several Australian dates to ring in the New Year.

Born Ruffians’ will be kicking off their Australian tour at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club on Sunday 2 January, before

heading north to Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Monday 3 January and then up to The Zoo in Brisbane for a show on Tuesday 4 January, then finishing up on Thursday 6 January at Fowler’s Live in Adelaide.

Winning over crowds in 2009, Born Ruffians’ toured the country on the back of the release of their debut album ‘Red Yellow and Blue’. Now they’re back with their latest offering ‘Say It’. A natural progression from their raucous debut, their second full-length effort is a more measured affair that still manages to stay true to their rambunctious, energetic approach.

With a combination of howling vocals, jagged guitar, punching bass and infectious drum beats, Born Ruffians make a whole lot of noise for a three piece. Luke LaLonde, Mitch Derosier and Steven Hamelin bring a soaring level of energy to their shows that make their live set a show not to be missed.

Born Ruffians’ album Say It (Warp) was released in Australia in May of this year through Inertia.
