Birds Of Tokyo Announce Self-Titled New Album & 3D Video!

The release of one of 2010’s most anticipated albums can now be announced with Birds Of Tokyo unleashing their self-titled new album on Friday July 23; along with the album artwork revealed above.

As fans come out in droves to see the band perform new material on their current national single tour, Birds Of Tokyo today also announce the release of their first 3D music video for the bands new single ’The Saddest Thing I Know’.

Using two DSLR cameras (7Ds) side by side, the boys of Birds Of Tokyo discovered a group of creative and innovative film makers who found their own way to create a 3D image, resulting in this unique 3D music video.

The 3D version of ‘The Saddest Thing I Know’ video can be viewed on any screen, including YouTube via computer screens, with the red/green 3D glasses. Whether you’re in Buffalo, NY or Birdsville Queensland, check out the future of music video in 3D kaleidoscopic vision HERE.

Over the past twelve months Birds Of Tokyo have been writing & recording their self-titled album and doing what they do best – performing a string of sold out live gigs in London and throughout Europe, shooting two new videos whilst preparing for the impending release of what is set to be their biggest breakthrough album yet.

Recorded in Sydney, New York City and Gothenburg Sweden, Birds Of Tokyo have teamed up with some of the industry’s finest who have each brought their individual colour and class to the stunning album. Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Silverchair, The Sleepy Jackson) as album producer and Michael Brauer (Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix) who mixed the album. Stay tuned for further album details, including confirmed tracklisting.

Current single “The Saddest Thing I Know” will be followed up by “Plans” which can be heard everywhere from June 21.
