Having established himself as a six-string hotshot, Marcus King and his incredible band of rockers are returning to play Melbourne and Sydney this April after their warm-up set at Bluesfest Byron Bay. Ready to deliver a southern fried brand of blues and psychedelia inspired by rock ‘n’ roll, all five members create a blistering, yet soulful unit that has honed their synergy through touring.
At only 23 years old, Marcus King has already been performing live for fifteen years and has established himself as an enthralling world class live music talent. He has appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, made his debut at The Grand Ole Opry and has performed with Chris Stapleton on a recent US arena tour, Crossroads Guitar Festival and at sold out headline shows including his namesake festival – The Marcus King Band Family Reunion. Previous Marcus King releases have received critical acclaim from the likes of VICE Noisey, NPR and Rolling Stone who acclaimed him an artist you need to know and described him as an “electrifying rock performer.”
Hitting number eight on the Billboard Blues Album Charts officially put the The Marcus King Band on the global music map. Now in his early 20’s, it’s no wonder that Marcus King is returning to Australia after a sell-out 2019 tour. He is fast becoming one of the most soulful voices of his generation.
