The most antipodean of holidays, ANZAC Day is coming up & Mistletone is celebrating by bringing New Zealand pop royals The Bats back across the Tasman. Following last year’s sold-out (and long overdue!) Sydney and Melbourne shows, The Bats are now finally coming to Brissy! The Bats play The Troubadour on Saturday, April 24 with support from Greg Brady & the Anchors and The Deadnotes with The Legend! |
The Bats are flagbearers for the legacy of the Dunedin/Flying Nun sound, yet their new music is vital and sparkling as ever. The band has never broken up and is touring in the original lineup of Robert Scott, Paul Kean, Kaye Woodward and Malcolm Grant. Their latest album The Guilty Office (now in its second pressing on Mistletone and available locally through Inertia) was deemed “as fine a collection of songs from the pen of Robert Scott as there ever was”, and last year’s shows won glowing reviews and adoring fans.
