  2011 is proving to be an enormous year for Felicity Ward. After taking her new show Honestly to the Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne Comedy Festivals, Felicity will be travelling to Singapore and Hong as part of the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow (16 – 31 July). She also stars in the feature film ‘25’ for Working Dog, the producers of The Castle and The Dish, which is due for release late in 2011 and has a new DVD out as part of the Warehouse Comedy Series. Felicity is currently developing new stage and TV projects.

Felicity first came to public attention with her much loved comedy characters on Network 10’s sketch comedy show, The Ronnie Johns Half Hour (2005-06). The show ran for 2 seasons, and became a cult hit. She was one of the founding members of the Australian comedy troupe, The 3rd Degree, the creative team behind the TV show.

FRANCHITTI BACK ON THE GOLD COAST – THE OTHER ONE!

The name Franchitti has become synonymous with the Armor All Gold Coast 600 for many years and it will be back again in October!

  Dario Franchitti won the Champ Car race on the streets of Surfers Paradise in 1999 and returned last year to co-drive with Steve Johnson at Jim Beam Racing – this year it will be his brother Marino who will be cutting laps.

Marino attended last year’s race as a spectator, but this year he will be a part of Lucas Dumbrell’s Gulf Western Oils team as a co-driver to Warren Luff.

The Light The Nitro Tour will kick off in October and finish on the first weekend of December with 24 concerts unveiled around Australia plus two New Zealand shows.

Tickets for all these gigs will go onsale everywhere at 9.00am on Thursday, 4 August.

Queenscliff Music Festival 2011 Announces Ripper Line Up

  The first round of artists for this year’s Queenscliff Music Festival has been revealed as well as a number of exciting, new announcements at a launch event held at Federation Squares Transit Lounge. Media, industry, festival and musician types rubbed shoulders whilst enjoying an intimate performance by those ‘just back from Glastonbury’ rockers Stonefield, as well as being treated to a unique merging of Dub Reggae band The Red Eyes with the Bamboos very own Kylie Auldist performing a stripped back, cool groove version of “Can You Hear it”. Launch attendees were then treated to an acoustic sneak peak of this year’s Headline act with the Triffids “Evil Graham Lee” and Oh Mercy vocalist Alex Gow performing a few Triffids fave’s.

Thousand Reasons Tour @ Hifi Bar, Melbourne

  On this particular chilly Saturday night at a sold out Hi-Fi Bar in Melbourne, punters were always going to be in for a treat. With members from Cog, Karnivool and The Butterfly Effect in the room it was a proverbial smorgasbord for fans of Australia’s huge alternative rock scene. The sheer idea of the line up left this reviewer and clearly many others at the gig salivation at the prospect of what was to come.
