LANIE LANE announces September ‘Hello Spring’ shows

LANIE LANE has announced that she is returning to the stage to play her first live shows of 2013. Performing in stripped-back mode, Lanie will play a swag of brand new tracks and old favourites before heading into to the studio to record her much anticipated 2nd album, the follow up to her gold selling To The Horses.

The success of To The Horses was built largely upon Lanie’s ability to play intimate shows, often with no amplification or PA, in front of audience who were close enough to feel as much a part of the show as they were listeners and observers. They were an all-inclusive affair. These return shows will see Lanie reconnect with old friends on and off stage to showcase her unique and fantastic voice, new songs, old songs and the charisma and warmth that made us all sit up and take notice the first time around.

Isolated Tracks: QUEEN – “We Are The Champions” (Vocals & Guitar Only)

QUEEN “WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS” (Only Vox & Guitar).

Queen – We Are The Champions ( A capella version ,only vocal)

Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury wrote this. All 4 members of Queen contributed hit songs.

Freddie Mercury: “I was thinking about football when I wrote it. I wanted a participation song, something that the fans could latch on to. Of course, I’ve given it more theatrical subtlety than an ordinary football chant. I suppose it could also be construed as my version of “I Did It My Way.” We have made it, and it certainly wasn’t easy. No bed of roses as the song says. And it’s still not easy.”

Live Review: Grinspoon @ The Corner Hotel, Melbourne – August 9, 2013

Review by Ben Connolly
There’s a workman like edge to the stage as the steady four piece of Northern NSW’s Grinspoon launched into their set. The wild flailing and feigned punk-rock disinterest from frontman Phil Jamieson are long gone, in its stead are the once-ironic rock poses: the furious grip on the mic stand, the perfectly timed lunge on to the stage monitors and, crucially, the almost trademarked index finger thrust decisively skyward.

“Workman-like” isn’t necessarily derogatory. Here it points to a ballsy longevity which has seen its particular brand of skate-punk survive where countless others have faded away. The ‘Spoon is the sound of Triple J, coming of age along with the fledgling youth broadcaster when both were still in proverbial nappies. Easily considered the band most likely to burn out in a blaze of glory – thanks largely to the well publicised excesses of Jamieson – the group not only survived, but has managed to cross over the Great FM Divide and is now, justifiably, entering into legacy territory.

KORN return with new studio album “The Paradigm Shift”

Grammy Award-winning multiplatinum hard rock innovators KORN have revealed that their 11th studio album, will be released on October 4 2013. Titled ‘The Paradigm Shift’, it marks the emotional return of much-revered co-founding guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch for his first album with Korn since 2003’s ‘Take a Look in the Mirror’. This record serves as the follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed 2011 dubsteb-metal hybrid ‘The Path of Totality’, which entered the Top 10 in the US Billboard chart and was hailed by Revolver Magazine as their ‘Album Of The Year’.

‘The Paradigm Shift’ is Korn’s first time working with super-producer Don Gilmore, whose legacy also includes producing Linkin Park’s legendary ‘Hybrid Theory’ album. Gilmore recorded the album at Buck Owens’ studio in their original hometown Bakersfield, and at Los Angeles’ famed NRG Recording Studios. Korn initially announced Head’s return via a captivating clip on rollingstone.com, and went on to discuss the reunion in this in-depth interview with artistdirect.com, to much excitement from the band’s dedicated fan base and the music community.
