Alfred Hitchcock

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, KBE (13 August 1899 – 29 April 1980) was an English film director and producer. He pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres. After a successful career in British cinema in both silent films and early talkies, billed as England’s best director, Hitchcock moved to Hollywood in 1939 and became a U.S. citizen in 1955.

The Jungle Giants Announce ‘Learn To Exist’ Tour Dates & Single ‘Skin To Bone’

As the August 30 release date for The Jungle Giants’ debut album ‘Learn to Exist’ approaches, Amplifire Music and Select Music are thrilled to present The Jungle Giants on tour. The ‘Learn to Exist’ album tour will see The Jungle Giants play in all major capital cities and many regional centres. Due to popular demand the band are excited to announce that they will also perform All-Ages shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane. Tickets for all dates go on sale on Friday August 16.

The band is also very happy to reveal another taste from the album in ‘Skin To Bone’: a perfect piece of infectious pop music about everyone’s favourite topic – shagging.

In early 1962, four young Liverpool musicians travelled down to the big smoke to audition for Decca Records. However they were rejected by Decca who said “We don’t like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out.” These words would soon come back to haunt them when the group, who happened to be called The Beatles, became the biggest band in the world, shifting over half a billion units within 10 years.

Although Decca Records turned down The Beatles they did sign one of the biggest 1960’s artists, The Rolling Stones.

AAM Opens Applications for Artist Manager Mentor Program


The Association of Artist Managers (AAM) has announced its signature Artist Manager Mentor Program is now open for applications, with support from APRA AMCOS.

Launched mid last year, the mentor program pitches younger managers with AAM Executive and top General members in a unique mentor relationship for 12 months. This year, in addition each successful applicant and their mentor will take part in an induction event to be held early October.

Applicants will be assessed on the quality of the acts that they represent, their experience in management and their ability to plan for their artists careers.

Tour News: The Blackwater Fever – ‘Won’t Cry Over You’ Tour – August/September 2013

After the successful release of their third album ‘The Depths”, The Blackwater Fever are pleased to be hitting the road again to celebrate their second single “Won’t Cry Over You”.

The band have consolidated a busy few years, playing festivals like Big Day Out, Bluesfest and Peats Ridge and opening for the likes of The Black Keys, Tame Impala, Jon Spencer and Violent Soho.

“The Depths” has been critically acclaimed as the band’s best yet. The 14 tracks journey through blues, soul, trip-hop, story telling, instrumental and rock n’ rock, all forged together with their unique, dark, atmospheric sound. The album also marked the duo becoming a three piece, bringing bass and organ into the fold.
