Megan Cooper to perform at Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane – 18 May 2014
Brisbane singer songwriter Megan Cooper brings her band The Pretty Pennies to the Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane on 18 May 2014 to mark the release of ‘27 Degrees’, the second single from her acclaimed debut album Ghosts Choirs & Kings.
Winning over critics since the album release with her self-penned mix of vintage country, bluegrass and rootsy blues, the first single ‘Virginia Fall’ has been receiving national airplay. However, it is live where Cooper seals the deal with “one of the most striking voices in Australian Country” (Noel Mengel, Courier Mail). Cooper’s delivery spans the quirky to the high lonesome, with the added sweetner of the Pretty Pennies rich harmonies.
Mixing with the finest of fellow Brisbane songwriters, Cooper will be supported by Harmony James and Jen Mize (Breaking Hart Benton), both on the verge of releasing brand new albums, in what promises to be one stellar night of hometown, alt-country goodness.

Eumundi Live announces ‘WinterSun’ Festival
Eumundi Live has grown to be one of the best little boutique music festivals going in Australia and ‘WinterSun’ on Sunday June 29th is set to take Eumundi Live to a new level. There will be a bunch of shining artists over two stages and bands ranging from funk, thru soul, bluegrass, rock, folk and indie-pop.
The festival will also be supporting local charities with profits going to Katie Rose Hospice, Riding For The Disabled and Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Having recently toured the world to sold out venues across Europe, the UK, US & Canada, and currently mid-way through an extensive 29 date regional tour of Australia, in-demand Sydney five-piece, Boy & Bear have announced their final tour for 2014, their Get Up & Dance theatre tour set to take place throughout September 2014. This will also be their final tour in support of their number 1 ARIA album, Harlequin Dream.

Since beginning with Triple R in 1985 Karen has presented many celebrated music programs including Station to Station, Hotwire and since 2001, Kinky Afro.

Australian 6-piece rock band, HANDS LIKE HOUSES release a music video for their cover of ‘Torn’ – the 1997 pop hit by Natalie Imbruglia – as part of the Punk Goes 90s, Vol. 2 compilation, currently available on iTunes through Fearless Records. Since its release, the band’s version is the best selling song on the compilation in Australia and New Zealand.
The beginning of 2012 saw Hands Like Houses signing to Rise Records and have since sold over 60,000 albums worldwide (2012’s Ground Dweller, 2013’s Unimagine), including an appearance at American Top 40 with the release of their sophomore album Unimagine, which debuted at #37 on Billboard 200 and #51 on the ARIA album chart last year.
