In a magnificent closing weekend of Twilight at Taronga presented by ANZ, the 2016 series was brought to an end with a performance from the eccentric and enigmatic jungle-blues troubadour C.W. Stoneking on Friday night and the illustrious South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo for a sold out show on Saturday night.

This was not country music as we normally understand it. Yes there were large numbers of guys in jeans, check shirts and cowboy hats, and hordes of girls in denim shorts and boots, but both these acts are modern country rock, with attitude and edge, and clearly have a massive fanbase in Australia.

Hailmary have announced a new EP titled Evolve Disolve will be released on April 9 and they will be touring around the country in support.
Australia has produced some quality hard rock in the last 50 years and that honest, straight up no bulls##t rock n roll attitude is still prevalent and very much a part of today’s music scene.

Like wow, a clear day, thirty plus degree heat, good wine, and a record 10,000 crowd. That was the setting for Bimbadgen Estate on Saturday as fans come to watch what could be described as the best eclectic line-up the area has seen in years. This event proved a smash, selling out within days of going on sale. An additional 2000 tickets were made available courtesy of a new makeshift stand. The theme for the day was interesting with 5 bands, all from different music categories including college rock to psychedelic punk and the result was spectacular.
