Susy Blue “Nobody’s Somebody” album launch tour – May 2014

Susy BlueSusy Blue is set to celebrate the release of her highly anticipated new album Nobody’s Somebody with an east coast Album Launch tour this May.

Divinely vintage vocals, honeyed harmonies and charming tales are what make up the forthcoming full length release from Melbourne’s Susy Blue. Inspired by Susy’s love of 60’s pop, early rock n roll, nouveau-folk and everything in between. From a history steeped in the study of classical flute and dabbling in gypsy jazz, tango, chorros, bossa nova, mixed with an affection for old school country and folk, to a long lasting love for singer songwriters such as Joanna Newsom, Bjork and Fiona Apple.

Live Review | Thirty Seconds to Mars at Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney

Review and article photo by Courtney Laura
tstmTo say I was buzzing with excitement as I took my seat in Sydney’s Qantas Credit Union Arena waiting for Thirty Seconds To Mars is an understatement. Looking around the room, it was filling up nicely. The atmosphere was building and as London band the White Lies stepped onto the stage the room erupted ready to party with them.

The 5-piece band captivated with their raw, edgy sound and successfully pumped up the energy of the crowd in readiness for the headline act.

The Decline announce new EP And National Tour

More than 8 years in and two albums deep, The Decline are a respected and recognisable name amongst the international punk community. 2013 was a stand-out year for the local stalwarts; they supported long time heroes Descendents, undertook a month-long European outing, a Japanese tour with 90’s So-Cal super-band Implants (members of Strung Out, Pulley) and an epic Australian tour with Isreali punkers Useless ID. These efforts earned them a WAMi nomination in the punk/hardcore category and ensured they came out of the gates strong in 2014, nabbing a coveted afternoon slot at the Perth Soundwave festival. It’s clear that the force rages strong with these guys.

Tour News | Joan as Police Woman returns to Australia | June-July 2014

JAPW_Shervin-LainezJoan as Police Woman has been as restless as ever since her last sold-out Australian tour in 2011, and the release of that year’s classic album The Deep Field. She’s starred in a BBC produced celebration of the music of Sandy Denny. Joan also appeared on Orchestral Variations V.01 by The Separate (aka producer / engineer Rob Kirwan), reimaging the Smiths’ The Night Has Opened My Eyes. But most crucially she’s returned to the studio to create her most striking LP yet, The Classic. Critics and fans are united in their praise of an album that one scribe said was best experienced with lights out, eyes closed, headphones on. This is music to get lost in.
