Sheppard release second single “Hold My Tongue” (Official Video)

Fresh from hanging plaques on the wall from their platinum radio smash “Let Me Down Easy”, Brisbane’s Sheppard are pleased to announce their new single and video “Hold My Tongue”.

Another pop gem showcasing siblings George, Amy and Emma Sheppard, ‘Hold My Tongue’ is the perfect summer prescription to ward off an otherwise chilly August. The track has already been added to radio across the country and is a top 10 hit in Thailand.

“This is the track that’s the most fun to play live,” said George Sheppard, “It’s the one our fans love dancing to most at our shows. We asked Australia to sing along with us on Let Me Down Easy, and now it’s time to invite everyone up to shake it a little!”

The Brisbane pop 6-piece Sheppard have had a rapid rise to fame, going from unknowns just six months ago, to being one of the biggest Australian acts on commercial radio, scoring multiple TV appearances and becoming one of the hottest properties being chased by the international music industry.

As with most “overnight successes”, the band started their journey a few years ago, making waves overseas before they hit the spotlight domestically, with headline shows, festivals and showcase performances in the UK, USA, The Philippines, South Africa (Oppikoppi Festival), and even India where they played the NH7 Weekend festival in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. In the US the band cracked the top 100 on the CMJ college radio charts and toured to sold-out crowds, including a 1500 cap show at Portland’s famed Crystal Ballroom.

At home, the band toured schools throughout Australia with “Rock the Schools”, building their base one fan at a time before cracking it with their hit “Let Me Down Easy”, which is on its way to 100,000 sales and remains in the both the ARIA and airplay top 20.

Sheppard are currently in the studio working on their debut album (due in early 2014) while taking some time out for Australian shows and slots this September at BIGSOUND and at Thailand’s Sonic Bang Festival alongside the likes of Jason Mraz, Pitbull and Owl City as well as a return to CMJ in New York.
