MNEMIC to headline Whiplash Festival “IV” Tour – October 2012

Deadsets Promotions vowed last year to make Whiplash bigger and better in 2012.

So we bring to you what’s sure to be one hell of a show stopping, ear crushing, fist pumping, heavy as &^%@ indoor festival.

Headlining this year we are proud to bring to the eastern shores of Australia; Denmark’s very own mind bending, sonic altering, genre bending and soul destroying export, MNEMIC.

Previously name as one of Metallica’s favourite bands and having previously been described as a fusion between metalcore, melodic death metal, industrial metal, progressive metal with hinted elements of thrash and groove metal – Mnemic form a style all on their own that only the band themselves can describe as “Future Fusion Metal.”
Having hit the Top 100 Charts with the worldly infamous album The Audio Injected Soul and played with some of the biggest names in music such as : Metallica, Deftones, Machine Head, Meshuggah, Arch Enemy, All That Remains, Fear Factory, The Haunted, Soilwork and God Forbid.

Live Review: Billy Talent @ Billboard, Melbourne – 12 August 2012

Review by Nadia Hall
Billboard the Venue was full to the brim with Billy Talent fans on Sunday night, all eager to catch the Canadian quartet after an agonizing three and a half year wait between shows.

Guitarist Ian D’Sa (and his trademark quiff) was first to appear on stage, and he was soon joined by bassist Jon Gallant, and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk. The band opened the set with the electrifying riffs of ‘Devil in a Midnight Mass’, and shortly after, frontman Ben Kowalewicz appeared and greeted the adoring crowd. The band continued to belt out hard and fast tracks from their last three albums, with just a taste of their new material thrown in between. In no time the venue was filled with the unmistakable sweaty smell of a happy crowd.
