Tour News: Mia Dyson “The Moment” Tour

August 17 sees the release of Mia Dyson’s long-awaited new album “The Moment”. With three years in the US under her belt, Dyson is returning to Australia with the most solid record of her career and a national tour.

The album, which was made possible via a successful fan funding campaign has already achieved high accolades while the album’s lead single “When the Moment Comes” has surpassed expectations with both radio support and its selection as iTunes single of the week.

“The Moment” is Dyson’s fourth album, with previous releases snatching ARIA Awards and cementing her place as one of Australia’s most exciting young artists. With a tumultuous few years establishing her career in the US, she’s overcome many obstacles to create what critics have called her most accomplished album yet.

“The Moment” frames that three-year journey into a chaotic American landscape and the depths of uncertainty. It is an album about grabbing hold of what scares you most and letting go of trying to control your own fate. Each song holds up a piece of broken heart and examines it through the fresh eyes of a woman who’s found her place, and is suddenly aware that not much in life can be planned. From the chronicle of an imploding relationship (“Pistol”) to the life-affirming heart-pounding joy of forging ahead (“When The Moment Comes”) to the empathetic gaze outward into a dark canon of Australian history in “Jesse”; this is the kind of album America meant for Mia Dyson to make all along.

And now it’s time to bring it all home.

“While Dyson has always delivered the goods, with The Moment she’s defined herself as an artist, as a person and as a musician to be truly reckoned with, on a global scale. An epic piece of work.”
– Rhythms

“The Moment comes tearing out of the blocks and rarely lets up. The drums kick, the guitars wail, the organs swirl and there she is in the middle of it all with her snakeskin winklepickers and generous lungs.”
– The Australian

“Now and then there comes a moment that hits you so hard you’re forced to take notice….. Every track on The moment demands attention, be it Dyson on wailing slide guitar or simply strumming away.”
