Brisbane’s Cub Scouts return this week with the title track from their upcoming EP “Paradise”.
With much of the last few months playing to sold out crowds in the UK, Vietnam and Singapore, the band are turning their attention back on Australia with a massive show planned at Splendour in the Grass plus headline set at the 4 Walls Festival, followed by a BIGSOUND appearance and national tour with Jinja Safari, ensuring that all corners of the country get to check out their new tracks.
The Paradise EP will feature five new songs recorded and produced by John Castle (Washington, The Bamboos) and will hit stores and the web on August 2, with specially signed pre-release copies available at their Splendour show. The title track explores the band’s trademark pop sound, building on the successful elements that have seen previous singles become local radio favourites receiving accolades such as Channel V’s Ripe Clip and last year’s Queensland Music Awards Song of the Year.
Cub Scouts have had a successful time overseas over the last six months, with their previous single “Told You So” cracking the CMJ College Radio Top 20 in the states and being invited to The Great Escape in the UK where they picked up one of the UK’s leading agents Steve Strange at X-Ray touring (agent for Coldplay, Green Day, Queens of the Stone Age), augmenting their growing industry team which includes new managers Rowan Brand and Briese Abbott.
