thewhiskeyarchive to play final 2013 show in Brisbane on September 1, 2013

thewhiskeyarchive return to Dowse Bar in Paddington on Sunday, 1 September 2013 for a chilled afternoon of tunes with Melbourne singer songwriter, Tim Woodz before taking a break for the rest of the year from live performance.

Drawing on influences as varied as Radiohead, REM, The Dirty Three, The Cure, Townes Van Zandt, Justin Townes Earle,
Portishead, The Saints and Paul Kelly, thewhiskeyarchive’s combination of ukulele songstress Jane Cameron and singer/songwriter Mark Bentley creates a vocal, musical and song-writing chemistry that is captivating and bound to both intrigue the uninitiated and satisfy their fans.

Over the last two years thewhiskeyarchive has gigged extensively around Brisbane as well as venturing interstate – with high points including their EP launch at the Old Museum in August 2012 and the Wesley Anne (VIC) in March 2013.

Joining thewhiskeyarchive at Dowse is one of Melbourne’s leading proponents of groovy folk music – Tim Woodz.

Tim Woodz writes songs perfect for those who like to have a sing while in the shower. He’s a quirky and animated folk singer, who constructs interesting stories about Possums, Laundromats and Tall Trees, while experimenting with the folk sound. Tim Woodz is a genuine, observational and captivating performer, who is fun for an age-less audience.
