Ivy League have confirmed that Menangle wunderkinds THE RUBENS have SOLD OUT the Forum Theatre, Enmore Theatre and The Tivoli shows on their Never Be The Same tour and second shows for each of these venues are on sale NOW.
This is a massive achievement and welcome news for the boys, who return home after a month long stint in Europe and the US, playing debut headline shows and SXSW.
Representing the exciting new breed of artists to come out of our fair land at their SXSW showcases, it wasn’t long before the buzz surrounding the band caught up internationally, with The New York Times describing their sound as “Coldplay sensibility and Radiohead edginess” going on to say “I predict that The Rubens will not be a baby band for long”.
The great news doesn’t stop there for fans of The Rubens – to celebrate the Never Be The Same tour, Ivy League is set to release a limited edition deluxe album package of THE RUBENS’ debut self-titled album on 26 April. A stellar debut that landed at #3 on the ARIA Album chart, #1 in the iTunes Album chart and was certified gold late last year!
The deluxe package features a previously unreleased track and seven live recordings from their sold out show at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre late last year.
With the world starting to catch onto what we Aussies have known for a while now, the future couldn’t be brighter for our tremendously talented and hard working boys, The Rubens.
THE RUBENS are very excited to announce that they will embark on their most massive tour to date this April/May. The NEVER BE THE SAME tour begins 24 April and takes in capital cities and regional centres across the country! Support duties will be split between Walk The Moon from the US and local heroes, Oh Mercy.
Currently making their UK and Europe debut, THE RUBENS will then make their way to the US to play stateside debuts and SXSW. The lads have been killing their sets and blowing away the overseas crowds, their first solo show in London sold out in 7 minutes!
It’s all non-stop until heading back to Australia in time to support Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Hanging Rock, followed by a well-earned break to recharge for their NEVER BE THE SAME TOUR. The lads will truly step it up and will share the love over 18 dates. After over a month on the road overseas, the awesomeness of THE RUBENS’ home crowd will come none too soon!
