The Killgirls ANIMAL EP LAUNCH – Queens Theatre, Adelaide – This Saturday October 22nd, 2011

Get ready to be blasted into oblivion when The Killgirls launch the ANIMAL EP at the Queens Theatre in Adelaide this Saturday, October 22. Supported by ADL heavy hitters The Rules, Loot and Plunder, Bottle Rockets (DJ Set), AJ Sound, The Kings and General Admission this launch is going to eclipse their last mind imprinting launch event.

The Killgirls: ANIMAL was produced, mixed and mastered entirely by lead vocalist Mario Spate, and recorded by the band – Nick O’Connor on bass, Hamish Cox playing synths, Tony Irish on drums, Rusty Hutchinson on guitar – the EP is the sound of The Killgirls unleashed. The first single, ‘Astronaut’, is a bass driven dance floor anthem at the ready, and it’s coming your way.

The Killgirls make music with teeth, for party people. They have played up to the ecstatic mayhem of the 2010 Fringe Opening Party in front of 40,000 people, scored a Boiler Room spot at the Big Day Out in 2011; rocked Parklife 2011 and played The Clipsal 500 2011, as well as many other shows around the country. They have shared stages with Crystal Castles, MSTRKRFT, Die Antwoord, Bloody Beetroots, Art VS Science and Oh Mercy!; have enjoyed syncs with Suburu, The Commonwealth Games and the AFL; will be taking the stage at the 2011 Parklife in Adelaide on October 3; are supporting Dead Letter Circus on the NO FRACKING WAY Tour in November, and this, as they say, is just the beginning.

The Killgirls have grown from strength to strength in their short history, launching their debut EP memorably at The Queens Theatre in 2009. A month before the launch, The Killgirls were tracked down by the Special Police after being seen kidnapping fans who’d participated in a web based ‘treasure hunt’. The stunt fuelled their sold out launch (which raised the bar on Adelaide parties) complete with mirror ball skyline, killer light show and indoor spa. The Killgirls had officially been born and Adelaide was never to be the same again.

Thanks to an extensive run of local shows, The Killgirls have carefully honed their performance skills, delivering exhilarating shows at will. In mind, body and music, the band’s clear aim is to get the party started – immediately. They slam aggression into excitement in an effort to inspire and invigorate; to get audiences pumped up and crazy. Clarity and anarchy with a charismatic male vocal, distorted bass, jagged guitar, a catchy synth and solid dance beats to urge you on.
