THE HOLIDAYS DAYTROTTER SESSION RECORDED AT THIS YEARS SXSW.

  Daytrotter is an American website for the recording studio Horseshack, which hosts recording sessions with many popular and typically upcoming Indie Music acts such as The Hold Steady, Foals, Tegan and Sara, Vampire Weekend, Grizzly Bear, Local Natives, Cold War Kids, Death Cab For Cutie, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and MGMT. http://www.daytrotter.com/

The sessions have been compared to that of the legendary Peel Sessions. According to the Daytrotter website, they have served more than 21.5 million song downloads.


The site is a winner of the Nielsen Online and Billboard.com “Music Blog of the Year”(2007) award, and The Morning News 2007 Editor’s Award for Online Excellence. The site has also received praise or coverage from Rolling Stone, Wired, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Esquire, Harp, Pitchfork Media, and The Chicago Tribune.

The Holidays began 2011 touring nationally on Laneway Festival alongside of Two Door Cinema Club, Yeasayer and Local Natives. The band completed a sold out headline tour of Australia and supports with Sia. The Holidays then headed to the USA where they played their first show in Los Vegas with Cee Lo Green and The Ting Tings before hitting SXSW for several very successful showcases.

The Holidays returned to Australia in May to tour nationally on GTM Festival and supported Cut Copy before heading to the UK.

The Holidays toured the UK in support of their 7” release ‘Golden Sky’ which received strong radio and media support including addition to X-FM playlist, Rebel Playlist @ Music 6, BB6 Playlist and Zane Lowes next hype record on radio one.

‘Golden Sky’ has been playlisted at Top Shop stores across UK and Elle used ‘Golden Sky’ for their Making of the August issue video, which is promoted on the homepage of Elle UK

The Holidays performed at The Great Escape Festival, The Dot to Dot Festival and supported Royal Bangs along with their own packed headline shows.

The Holidays are set to tour nationally again on the Harvest Festival alongside of Portisehead, The National,The Flaming Lips an TV On The Radio.

The Holidays have been nominated for Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year in this year’s Jagermeister Independent Music Awards.

The Holidays Debut Album “Post Paradise” was released in Australia on 24 September 2010 and featured singles ‘Golden Sky’, ‘Broken Bones’ and ‘2Days’. The Holidays were shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize and won the Red Bull Award for Best Debut Album.
