SIREN LINES Single Launch – August 2012

Siren Lines are about to embark on their inaugural mission into live music venues down the East Coast of Australia in support of their brand new single ‘Dance in Clouds.’ The song was produced by Lachlan Mitchell (The Jezabels) and mastered in New York at West Side music by Alan Douches (Ben Folds, Brand New, Mastadon). The single is the first taste from their upcoming Debut EP, due for release later in 2012. It will be released on July 20 for free via the bands Bandcamp account as a taste of things to come from the band.

The Sydney four-piece create instantly relatable indie pop rock tunes that fill your heart with equal parts joy, hope and elation. Featuring intricate delay-driven guitar work, pounding, swelling, heaving drum parts, dancing bass lines and alluring and emotional vocals intended to make you swoon, Siren Lines effortlessly fuse eclectic sonic ideas into a cohesive soundscape you will find hard to not connect with.

Garry Taulu, Jake Smithers, Cain Taylor and Dean Andersen make up Siren Lines. Their hard work in forming the band and writing and rehearsing saw the production of their incredible debut demo with Dave Hammer at Def Wolf Studios in Sydney titled ‘The Seeking Sessions’ (available now for free at http://sirenlines.bandcamp.com).

The band was formed in 2009 in a bedroom between Garry and Jake with simple beginnings – the two of them and an acoustic guitar. Prior to forming the band, the members were spread all over New South Wales.

The single, ‘Dance in Clouds’ is about obsession and following that obsession or goal in one’s life to the point where others may think you seem crazy, while also finding catharsis and comfort in pursuing that obsession.

Backing up their incredible songs is a support and touring history to envy. A late night main room showcase at Oxford Art Factory with Young Revelry, an FBi Radio fundraiser at World Bar, support for Horsell Common’s farewell tour, a national tour alongside Young Heretics a support slot with New York’s As Tall As Lions, UK’s This Town Needs Guns, Kevin Devine (USA), The Getaway Plan, sleepmakeswaves, Closure in Moscow and many more.

Siren Lines will release their debut EP later in 2012. They can be found on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/sirenlines, Triple J Unearthed at http://triplejunearthed.com.au/sirenlines and on Bandcamp at http://sirenlines.bandcamp.com.
