New Single: The Mark Of Cain – “Heart Of Stone”

November 2011 saw The Mark Of Cain unchain their first release in ten years – Barkhammer, a solid 6/8 groove delivered with TMOC’s trademark intensity that was answered with praise from critics and fans alike.

In 2012, the legend continues. Heart Of Stone is the potent second single from The Mark Of Cain’s forthcoming LP, Songs Of The Third and Fifth, due in store November 2nd 2012 via Feel Presents / FUSE.

Written by vocalist/ guitarist John Scott and drummer John Stanier, Heart Of Stone exemplifies the sound of the new album and Scott’s suggestion that it “harks back to our earlier days when we had more melody in our songs, it straddles in effect the earlier sound we had on Battlesick as well as the more riff focused hard grooves of This is This.”

Recorded in Adelaide over a two year period, Heart Of Stone was produced by John Scott and Feel Presents Tim Pittman, and mixed by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Cog, Birds Of Tokyo) in Melbourne.
