Melbourne TRASH POP outfit RADIO STAR release self titled EP June 17th

Their favorite colors are pink and blue and they only drink Melbourne Bitter. They are Melbourne TRASH POP outfit RADIO STAR: Zack Buchanan (vocals & guitar), Will Fontana, (guitar & keys), Jake Novak (bass) and Pat Jovaras (drums).

Think ‘Boy’s Don’t Cry’, though ZACK often does. With guitars, drums and synthesizers their songs are mostly about GIRLS, DRINKING, DANCING and sometimes SPACE, which incidentally is where WILL comes from.

Radio Star’s latest single ‘YOU GOT ME (I GOT YOU)’ is from forthcoming self-titled EP set for independent release June 17th, and is the follow up to their previous single ‘A COMMON TALE’.

“It may very well be two from two by the time Radio Star’s latest single ‘A Common Tale’ Finishes its assault on the alternative airwaves. Preceding single ‘All The Things We Did’ featured on Rage as Indie Clip of the Week and was blasted across Video Hits, Channel [V] and MTV, also collecting a Triple J Unearthed Spotlight feature. Radio Star might just not be a clever name…” THE MUSIC NETWORK 25/5/11

The third in a series of three consecutively singles release in lead up to their debut EP, ‘YOU GOT ME (I GOT YOU)’ is accompanied by another classic RADIO STAR D.I.Y clip.

With a hectic live show that often ends with a mess of band members and instruments on the floor and a broken drum kit (sorry PAT). RADIO STAR set off on tour this June, most likely in JAKES car dubbed ‘The Millennium Falcon’.

Friday June 3rd – Ed Castle, Adelaide
Thursday June 9th – East Brunswick Club, Melbourne
Friday June 10th – MUM@World Bar, Sydney

‘Cyndi Lauper as an influence?! That caught my eye before this tune compelled some ecstatic dancing with it’s ridiculously catchy Cure inspired riffs. I’m happily breathless!!’ Caz Tran (Triple J) 4/5 Stars

‘Unashamedly glitzy, with more hooks than a weekend fishing trip. There’s a hint of Faker in the ‘la la las’ and a dash of the 80s stylings we’ve heard form acts like Dukes Of Windsor and Lost Valentinos. But this is a fresh, vibrant track that’ll be a great addition to indie dancefloors around the country’. Dan Buhagiar (Triple J) 5/5 Stars
