KE$HA HEADLINE AUSTRALIAN SHOWS ANNOUNCED – MARCH 2011

In news that’s guaranteed to have fans all over the nation going absolutely wild, American global pop sensation, Ke$ha, is headed down under for her first ever Australian tour. In addition to her recently announced live performances at the almighty 2011 Future Music Festival, the chart-topping singer/songwriter will also play a string of headline shows around the country from 3-16 March in 2011.

Touching down for a week-long promo tour in Sydney yesterday, Ke$ha’s visit is perfectly timed for this exciting announcement! On top of some special appearances in support of the forthcoming Animal + Cannibal double CD due for release November 19, Ke$ha is sure to have the paparazzi and fans alike in a frenzy as she hits the harbour city’s shops, restaurants and hot spots.

Having already taken her high octane, party like crazy live show to dozens of countries around the globe, Ke$ha has left thousands of fans awestruck and begging for more. Jam-packed with a blissfully relentless barrage of heart thumping hits, smoking hot dance moves and more glitter than most people see in a lifetime, the show is 100% Ke$ha – raw, fresh, dazzling and utterly infectious.

The daughter of a gifted songwriter mother and talented singer father, Ke$ha caught her first big break in the music biz after being discovered and signed by legendary record producer and songwriter, Dr. Luke, at the tender age of 18. After announcing herself to the world by penning The Veronica’s hit This Love, she backed it up with an impressive appearance on background vocal duties for Britney Spear’s Lace and Leather and, well, the rest is history! Her vocal efforts alongside Flo’Rida on his massive Top 100 Hit Right Round in 2009 sealed the deal and this prodigious and energetic young starlet hit the spotlight running and was well on her way to taking planet pop by storm.

Proving that she had the skills to pay the bills and then some, in early 2010 Ke$ha released her jaw-dropping debut album Animal to widespread acclaim. Featuring worldwide #1 hits like Tik Tok (which has sold over 6 million copies) and Your Love Is My Drug, and the chart-smashing monsters Blah Blah Blah and Take It Off, Animal shot straight to the top of the coveted US Billboard 200.

Now, in November 2010, with well over 2 million sales globally and counting, Animal has been certified Gold or Platinum in no less than six countries (including here in Australia) – one of the most successful debut albums in history!

This week “We Are Who We Are” the first single from Animal + Cannibal debuted at number one on the Aria Charts in Australia, proving there’s no stopping the Ke$ha juggernaut!

Hot on the heels of a stunning inaugural 8-nation headlining tour of Europe and fresh from taking out the coveted Best New Act award in the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards earlier this week, Ke$ha is ready to get the party started in Australia with a full-tilt, in-your-face live show that’s truly out of this world.

Brash, irreverent and always the consummate life of the party, Ke$ha is a uniquely talented pop phenomenon whose live shows are larger than life …

Tik, tok, Australia … the countdown to Ke$ha mania has begun!
