This national touring party will bring quality dance music to four spectacular inner cityvenues across Australia this spring.

Rising sensations Disclosure headline Listen Out. Playing a live set, audiences will hear house music at its finest. This worldwide dance duo phenomenon recently released their massive debut album ‘Settle’ which topped the iTunes album charts and was described by renowed UK radio host Zane Lowe as his ‘favourite album of the year so far’. They’ll be bringing their hot tracks ‘Latch’, ‘White Noise’ featuring AlunaGeorge and their most recent hit ‘You & Me’ featuring Eliza Doolittle.

Harlem raised rapper, singer, songwriter Azealia Banks doesn’t hold back. This talented, foul-mouthed, songwriter extraordinaire has been winning over fans around the world; don’t miss her live at Listen Out!
First discovered by XL Recordings in 2008 (at age 17), she went on to sign lucrative deals with Interscope and Polydor Records. Rising to prominence in 2011, she topped NME’s ‘Cool List’ then dropped her debut single ‘212’ featuring Lazy Jay which features on her critically acclaimed EP ‘1991’. Her new single has been rumoured to be with Pharrell (expected this July), and her new album to be released at the end of the year.

TNGHT is one part Hudson Mohawke, one part Lunice. They will be performing their first ever Australian shows at Listen Out. Arriving in Australia off the back of huge sets at Coachella, Bestival and Glastonbury, they are still riding the waves of their critically acclaimed 2012 TNGHT EP. TNGHT’s huge 2012 dancefloor track ‘Higher Ground’, was described by NME as ‘a certified banger’ and will certainly get the blood flowing at their hotly anticipated live show.

There wouldn’t be a party without the infectious beats of Duke Dumont. His track ‘Need U 100%’ was a breakaway hit (watch the video clip to find out just how infectious), it peaked at #1 in the UK singles charts, and entered the Top 40 Australian ARIA charts. The man has produced for the likes Santigold, and M.I.A. and remixed everyone from Bat For Lashes to Haim and the MysteryJets. There is not much in the music world Duke Dumont hasn’t done.

Disclosure’s fellow collaborating artists AlunaGeorge join the party. When you hear the oh-so-sweet vocals of Aluna Francis paired the production prowess of George Reid, you’ll realize why they’re the most talked about, blogged about, etch-o-sketched and generally salivated over UK artist of 2012. They’re best known for their track ‘Your Drums, Your Love’ which has been remixed by the likes of Friendly Fires and fellow-Listen-Out-artist Duke Dumont. Fans stand by, album is set to drop in July.

Miguel Campbell will be bringing his funk fuelled odyssey, filled with spacey electronic madness to our shores. Snapped up by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss for his track ‘Baby I Got It’ (2011), Campbell followed up with the unforgettable Beatport best-selling ‘Something Special’. He also snagged a DJ Mag Best Of British Award. His debut album Back In Flight School (2012) is layered withdisco-house deliciousness, diversity and dexterity.

Fans of the Future Classic label will be ecstatic to hear L.A. natives Classixx and Spanish electro maestro John Talabot will be at Listen Out for their first EVER Australian live shows. Listen Out for Talabot’s DJ Kicks compilation out this September. Also part of the Future Classic family, Touch Sensitive (Van She’s Michael Di Francesco) will be unveiling his new material, including the awesome new single ‘Pizza Guy’.

American hip hop producer Justin Smith, aka Just Blaze, is known for his killer production skills and the string of non-stop hits he produced for the likes of Jay-Z (produced songs on the albums The Blueprint, The Blueprint 2, and The Black Album) and Eminem (Recovery). Earlier this year, his collaboration with Baauer for ‘Higher’ was a dancefloor hit worldwide.

And don’t forget to check out deep house heroine Laura Jones and Sydney’s own RÜFÜS who are set to drop their highly anticipated new album in August leading up to the event.

Listen Out is the antidote to many of the things you don’t like about big music festivals. It is a carefully handcrafted party, with a killer lineup of the dance music that matters and a philosophy of best, not biggest. Say goodbye to endless timetable clashes, long hikes to the 12th stage and spending your day with several thousand people you can’t relate to. Listen Out is the right party, and we mean party not festival, for the right people.

“We are creating Listen Out because there isn’t a national dance music event that isn’t super commercial… We see a need for a return tothis simple idea: A straight up, quality dance-off in beautiful surroundings. That’s what Listen Out is” – Fuzzy Director John Wall
