But this is no ordinary festival – it’s the 2012 Caloundra Music Festival and it’s going to be better than ever – and we have yet to announce the whole line-up.

“We’ll announce the full line-up soon,” festival director Richie Eyles said.

“And there are some great names yet to come.

“We are just finalising all the contracts now. I wish we had more stages to include all of the great acts, from here and overseas, that have heard about our friendly festival by the sea.”

Divisional councillor Tim Dwyer said the festival’s new dates should ensure a huge audience.

“With the inaugural Caloundra Fringe Festival starting a week before the Music Festival – and with three major states having their spring holidays simultaneously – we are expecting a great atmosphere and a full house,” he said.

“Interest from local organisations and businesses in the Fringe Festival is inspiring.

“From the street parade on the evening of 21 September right through to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation event on 1 October, it looks like being a carnival – that is exactly what we want.”

A limited number of early-bird season tickets are on sale now at $175 for an adult, $91 for youth/pensioner and $11 for those 12 and under.
