Fresh off the back of a three-month international writing stay in New York and a national tour with Missy Higgins and Gurrumul, Brisbane songbird Emma Louise is delivering an exclusive sneak peek of her debut album to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with a run of intimate shows in January. Playing with a full band, this will be Emma’s first major headline tour since July and the also the first to preview material that is currently being captured on tape in the studio.
2012 was a landmark year for the young singer with a swag of national and international festival appearances, sold out headline shows and clocking up an excess of 35,000 sales, rewarding her debut EP a coveted Gold sales ranking. Add to that several international signings to Vertigo Universal and New York’s Frenchkiss (Local Natives, Bloc Party, Passion Pit, Les Savy Fav), and the local and international buzz is getting louder by the day.
This short, intimate tri-state tour is only the beginning, with her anticipated debut album now officially slated for a March 22 release, Emma Louise is set to take her next steps as an artist not just controlling her destiny, but reshaping expectations.
