2011 is proving to be an enormous year for Felicity Ward. After taking her new show Honestly to the Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne Comedy Festivals, Felicity will be travelling to Singapore and Hong as part of the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow (16 – 31 July). She also stars in the feature film ‘25’ for Working Dog, the producers of The Castle and The Dish, which is due for release late in 2011 and has a new DVD out as part of the Warehouse Comedy Series. Felicity is currently developing new stage and TV projects. Felicity first came to public attention with her much loved comedy characters on Network 10’s sketch comedy show, The Ronnie Johns Half Hour (2005-06). The show ran for 2 seasons, and became a cult hit. She was one of the founding members of the Australian comedy troupe, The 3rd Degree, the creative team behind the TV show.

In 2006, Felicity, as part of The 3rd Degree, was nominated for an Australian TV Logie Award, for Most Outstanding Comedy for The Ronnie Johns Half Hour.

Felicity Ward has participated in six Melbourne International Comedy Festivals (MICF) since 2005, but it was her debut full-length comedy show, Felicity Ward’s Ugly As A Child Variety Show at the 2008 Melbourne Fringe that announced Ward as a solo stand up performer. The autobiographical show went on to become a commercial and critical hit, and was awarded Most Outstanding Newcomer.

At the 2009 Adelaide Fringe, Felicity Ward’s UAAC Variety Show sold out a 4-week season, before playing to full houses at the 2009 MICF, culminating in a Best Newcomer nomination. The Age described her as ‘Warm, witty and brilliant’, and Chortle.co.uk, gushed praise; ‘She is an irresistible force of nature… She’s brilliantly insane, and insanely brilliant. Also in 2009, Ward toured with the MICF Roadshow around Australia, and was invited to take UAAC Variety Show to the Edinburgh Fringe, where she was awarded the ‘Spirit of the Fringe Award’.

Since 2006, Ward has also starred along fellow Ronnie Johns alumni Heath Franklin (aka ‘Chopper’’) in the live comedy show Chopper F**kin’ Bingo, which The Sydney Morning Herald’s 2006 Arts Review, named as one of the ‘five funniest shows of the year’. As ‘Jenny’, Chopper’s drug addict niece and bingo ball-girl, the show went on to sell out seasons and receive 4 star reviews from 2007- 2009.

In 2008, Felicity hosted the live radio topical sketch show, The Comedy Hour on 774 ABC Radio Melbourne, and saw the first of many guest appearances on ABC TV’s panel game show, Spicks and Specks’. Host Adam Hills said of Felicity, ‘(She) is one of the most naturally funny people I know. She not only has funny bones, she has funny marrow.’

At the 2009 Melbourne Fringe, Felicity debuted Felicity Ward Reads from the Book of Moron, an intimate performance of humorous short stories and essays she has written. She reprised the show for the 2010 Adelaide Fringe, Brisbane Comedy Festival and MICF, before touring NZ and the UK. In early 2010, she also reunited with fellow 3rd Degree members for a live reunion national tour of The Ronnie Johns Half Hour. In 2010, Felicity also appeared on the 2010 MICF TV gala, and The Sydney Morning Herald named Felicity as one of the top ten rising stars of Australian comedy.
