CALLING ALL CARS – 2011…But wait! There’s more!

2011 is coming to an end and Melbourne’s CALLING ALL CARS have been drawn back to the white lines of the music industry…

…the white lines of the roads that they’ll navigate between venues.

A month after launching their latest album ‘Dancing With A Dead Man’ ( Read our album review here) on an action-packed national tour CALLING ALL CARS have finally been let out to play again! That tour, throughout August and September, launched ‘Dancing With A Dead Man’ and the album was crowned a “triple j feature album” in the week of its release! That tour also introduced new comers Redcoats and Boy in a Box to a national audience.

CALLING ALL CARS’ 2011 swansong is a little less single minded. A rock & roll smorgasbord of events that encompasses a mix of festivals, major supports, benefit shows, equine worships and racing car rev ups! In between all that mayhem their new single “Worlds Collide” will be released with an accompanying video by Melbourne director Prad Senanayake. Prad previously worked with the band on the “Reptile” video and was recently nominated for the coveted Best Australian Music Video Award by Triple J.

Over the past three years Calling All Cars’ time has been split, either hunkered down in a recording studio creating their two stellar albums – this year’s ARIA charting monster ‘Dancing With A Dead Man’ and before that their 2010 debut ‘Hold, Hold, Fire’ – or on the road to a better place, enjoying the treadmill touring life of a band with places to see, things to do, shows to play!

Calling All Cars are a band at their performance peak and these will be their final shows of the year before bedding down for some well-earned respite from the rigours of the road.

With a stellar CV that already includes a 2011 triple j feature album for ‘Dancing With A Dead Man’; said album debuting on the national ARIA chart at #20, and #5 on the all Australian ARIA chart; supporting AC/DC on their national Black Ice tour; and opening for Queens Of The Stone Age at their only Australian side show in 2010, if you haven’t seen CALLING ALL CARS already the time is nigh, you’d be crazy not to!
