Brisbane International – Day Two Update

Day two of the Brisbane International saw a record crowd of 12,595 attend the Monday day session and the first Kids Day held at the event.

The previous day attendance record was 8824 recorded on the tournament’s first Sunday session in 2009.

Add to this a record Monday night attendance of 5883 and the combined day-night attendance of 18,478 smashed the previous day-night Brisbane International record attendance of 13,121 set in 2010.

This record-breaking day saw Ana Ivanovic, Serena Williams, Bernard Tomic, Sam Stosur, Andrea Petkovic and Gilles Simon progress to the second round with Ivanovic’s victory setting up a blockbuster round two clash against Kim Clijsters at Pat Rafter Arena tomorrow.

Also in action on day three are Australians Matthew Ebden up against former Brisbane International champion, Radek Stepanek, and Marinko Matosevic against Germany’s Tommy Haas.
