Bluesfest wins North Coast Tourism Award!

Byron Bay’s Bluesfest was named winner in the Major Festival and Events Category at the 2011 North Coast Tourism Awards gala event held in Grafton on the weekend.

The award recognizes overall Business Excellence and Bluesfest director Peter Noble says:

We are very proud to be bringing the North Coast Tourism Award home to the Byron shire. It recognizes that Bluesfest creates a substantial economic impact, attracts visitors from interstate and overseas and positively promotes Byron Bay as a destination.

This fantastic achievement has automatically placed Bluesfest into the nominations for the NSW Tourism Awards, to be held in Sydney on Thursday the 17 November 2011.

Bluesfest has also been nominated for “Best Regional Event’ and ‘Best Achievement in Sustainability’ by the prestigious Australian Event Awards at the industry ‘Night of Nights’ in Sydney on October 6 2011.

Bluesfest is Australia’s premier Music Festival is held annually each Easter long weekend in Byron Bay. It attracts over 120,000 attendances from around the globe and Australia. Bluesfest runs for 5 days with 12 hours of music daily across 5 stages, counting over 200 performances of the best blues, roots, folk, soul and world artists.

The upcoming 23rd Bluesfest will be held from Thu April 1 – Monday April 5, 2012.
