BABY ANIMALS
“WISH YOU WERE HER” TOUR 2009

balivepromoshotap09 Australian Rocker Suze DeMarchi, returns Down Under in April for the “Wish U Were Her” Tour…..

Suze DeMarchi returns to Australia for a slew of shows and some new material to unleash on the Australian public.

Suze says – “I think that a relevant quote for the story of my life would be “Time Flies”!!!
It’s been a year since we did our last shows and a year that proved to be really creative but also a reminder of how geography affects everything!! Dave and I have been plowing ahead with work on new songs.

What we really love to do is write and perform and since my life has taken me far away, across the seas, to the desert that is Los Angeles, we have to get it when we can!!!
CANNOT wait to play again! April… All of it…somewhere near you…. get your boots on…. Heaps” – Suze

The Baby Animals need no introduction as one of Australia’s best rock bands. Starting out with their debut single Early Warning released in April 1991 they immediately reached the Top 20 on the Australian singles charts. That was quickly followed the second single Rush You in 1991. Then the debut album Baby Animals was released in September 1991. The album debuted at number six on the ARIA Charts and spent six weeks at number one becoming the highest-selling debut Australian rock album of all time.

After touring with Bryan Adams, the Black Crowes, Van Halen’s ‘For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour’ and supporting Robert Plant’s US tour, the Baby Animals made a guest appearance on the David Letterman Show, performing the single Painless. They cracked the American market and were playing to arena-size audiences.

A string of awards including ‘Best New Act’ at the 1991 Australian Music Awards, the band picked up a number of honours at the 1992 ARIA Music Awards, receiving awards for ‘Best Debut Album’, ‘Best Single’, and ‘Best Album’. DeMarchi was also nominated for ‘Best Female Vocalist’.

Sales of Baby Animals reached 8 times platinum in Australia, and topped 800,000 worldwide. Shaved And Dangerous was then released in August 1993. In October 1999 DeMarchi released her first single, Satellite as a solo artist, which was followed by her debut album, Telelove, on Mushroom Records and a national tour. In June 2004 Suze was one of the inaugural inductees into the WAM (West Australian Music Industry Hall of Fame.

In 2007, the band got together in America and recorded an acoustic Baby Animals album with producer Justin Stanley (Noiseworks). Several of those songs appeared in the Miramax/Disney film Smart People starring Denis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker that was released in April 08. The band then toured Australia for the first time in ten years to sell out crowds…
