Laura ‘Twelve Hundred Times’ Tour – November 2011

For anyone who ever thought that making good music was a lost art, LAURA compels you to think again. On October 14 the Melbourne five piece release their long-awaited third album, TWELVE HUNDRED TIMES.

Of the new album, LAURA’s Andrew Yardley says ”’Cutting the fat’ – was the mantra applied to every aspect of creating TWELVE HUNDRED TIMES. Focused and obsessed, we were brutal in refining every note of every song. Songs and sounds became territorial, aggressively fighting for space. The weak were cut or cannibalised. Emotion was a scarce treat, allowed in small potions but neurotic self-restraint ensured it didn’t weaken our vision. Any reward songs gave us along the way was immediately ploughed

The Killgirls ANIMAL EP LAUNCH – Queens Theatre, Adelaide – This Saturday October 22nd, 2011

Get ready to be blasted into oblivion when The Killgirls launch the ANIMAL EP at the Queens Theatre in Adelaide this Saturday, October 22. Supported by ADL heavy hitters The Rules, Loot and Plunder, Bottle Rockets (DJ Set), AJ Sound, The Kings and General Admission this launch is going to eclipse their last mind imprinting launch event.

The Killgirls: ANIMAL was produced, mixed and mastered entirely by lead vocalist Mario Spate, and recorded by the band – Nick O’Connor on bass, Hamish Cox playing synths, Tony Irish on drums, Rusty Hutchinson on guitar – the EP is the sound of The Killgirls unleashed. The first single, ‘Astronaut’, is a bass driven dance floor anthem at the ready, and it’s coming your way.

The Killgirls make music with teeth, for party people. They have played up to the ecstatic mayhem of the 2010 Fringe Opening Party in front of 40,000 people, scored a Boiler Room spot at the Big Day Out in 2011; rocked Parklife 2011 and played The Clipsal 500 2011, as well as many other shows around the country. They have shared stages with Crystal Castles, MSTRKRFT, Die Antwoord, Bloody Beetroots, Art VS Science and Oh Mercy!; have enjoyed syncs with Suburu, The Commonwealth Games and the AFL; will be taking the stage at the 2011 Parklife in Adelaide on October 3; are supporting Dead Letter Circus on the NO FRACKING WAY Tour in November, and this, as they say, is just the beginning.
