  The original Southern California punk/surf power trio, Agent Orange have been around since… forever. Never bought in, never sold out. Still flying under the radar after all these years, with a loyal following that’s always one step ahead.

Agent Orange reach our sunny shores for shows at the Corner Hotel, Melbourne on October 20, The Step Inn, Brisbane on October 21, Manning Bar, Sydney on October 22 and the Amplifier in Perth on October 23.

Named after the chemical defoliant used by the USA in the Vietnam War, Agent Orange were one of a number of bands formed in the highly active “So-Cal” hardcore scene of Fullerton, Orange County, comprised Mike Palm (vocals, guitar), Steve “Soto” Rodgers (bass) and Scott Miller (drums). Good Charlotte are ready to take the east coast this November for The JD Set, armed with their twist on a Weezer classic and some classics of their own!

  If there was ever any doubt that Mr. Jack knows how to throw a party, that was well and truly put to rest at last week’s JD Sets in Melbourne and Sydney in celebration of the man’s 161st birthday. Art vs Science and friends totally blew audiences away with their amazing re-workings of the music of legendary Aussie band ICEHOUSE, and the crowds were even further impressed when the man behind the 80s heroes, lead singer and composer Iva Davies, joined the ensemble onstage for the encore. The JD was flowing, the sing-a-longs were plentiful and the vibe was positively electric!

Ladytron – Gravity The Seducer | Album Review

By now fans of Ladytron will be well-acquainted with their parallels to Roxy Music. The English quartet were named after the latter’s song; two members once posed as Roxy-like pinups for their remix album “Softcore Jukebox”; and there are certainly elements of the glam pop sound permeating their music. But while the group had previously aligned aspects of themselves with the latter’s frontman, Bryan Ferry, on album number five, “Gravity The Seducer” they seem to be taking a leaf out of his former bandmate’s book (and later solo work), i.e. Brian Eno and his famed atmospherics.
