U.S. alt-rock favourites ANBERLIN have announced a special new show to their upcoming Australian tour in 2024, this time bringing their beloved albums Never Take Friendship Personal and Cities to life in full, in Melbourne on Saturday 27 January.
With the original Melbourne date for Anberlin now officially sold out, the group is excited to be able to extend their time at the iconic Northcote Theatre in January, with tickets on sale now.
Of their decision to focus this new show on celebrating 2005’s Never Take Friendship Personal and 2007’s Cities, Anberlin ties their connection to both these albums to time spent in Australia. In playing both in full, the band acknowledges how important this music has been, but also enhances the significance both have for them as a touring band internationally.

Part of that story during that period is when Anberlin first started touring in Australia and were embraced by the fans there. As with the rest of the tour, Anberlin will be joined by special guests HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS and THE WORD ALIVE for the new Northcote Theatre date.
Australian Anberlin fans are urged to jump on tickets to this new Melbourne show ASAP, as it will be the final opportunity to see vocalist Stephen Christian perform with the group – this Australian tour being the last for the musician, who has recently announced an indefinite hiatus from live touring.
Reflecting on the importance of these final shows, Christian recognises just how special the Anberlin relationship with Australian fans has continued to be.

From our first show in Adelaide, to then writing a song about it, and years later having a 9-year-old girl named Adelaide come on stage and sing that very song with us to a massive sold-out show in Sydney we have SO many core memories created on that soil.It is absolutely fitting that I am taking a final bow in Australia before taking a long hiatus from touring.
