Gwar frontman Dave Brockie (Oderus Urungus ) Has Died

August 30, 1963 – March 23, 2014

Jack Flanagan, manager of GWAR has issued an official statement:

β€œIt is with a saddened heart, that I confirm my dear friend Dave Brockie, artist, musician, and lead singer of GWAR passed away at approximately 6:50 PM EST Sunday March 23,2014. His body was found Sunday by his band mate at his home in Richmond, VA. Richmond authorities have confirmed his death and next of kin has been notified. A full autopsy will be performed. He was 50 years old, born August 30, 1963.

My main focus right now is to look after my band mates and his family. More information regarding his death shall be released as the details are confirmed.”

R.I.P. Broadcast’s Trish Keenan

England’s electro/dream-pop group, Broadcast, has lost their frontwoman Trish Keenan.

A statement from Warp Records reads:

It is with great sadness we announce that Trish Keenan from Broadcast passed away at 9am this morning in hospital. She died from complications with pneumonia after battling the illness for two weeks in intensive care. Our thoughts go out to James, Martin, her friends and her family and we request that the public respect their wishes for privacy at this time.

This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly – a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace.”

Formed in the mid 1990’s, Trish Keenan was a founding member of Broadcast and she brought her 60’s styled vocals to their unique electro/dream-pop music.

Trish Keenan was one of the founding members of Broadcast, who formed in the mid-1990s as a quintet. Trish Keenan was 42.
