Australians have responded to the news that Paolo Nutini is touring after eight years by selling out his first show in 24 hours.
Answering the call, Bluesfest Touring has listed another show for Thursday, 13 April 2023, at the State Theatre in Sydney, on sale now.
Touring his 2022 album Last Night In the Bittersweet, Paolo Nutini’s fans have been brought to tears in his spectacular show, which sold out major venues in the UK in October. Accolades for Nutini are bountiful, and there will be plenty more following his Australian tour.
The Manchester Evening News reported, ‘His entire performance was phenomenal, a master musician and singer-songwriter whose connection with the crowd and his music was incredible’
‘The best British male soul singer this century’, The Telegraph, UK
‘The great Joe Cocker sadly died before Christmas. His successor already seems firmly installed in the hearts of the British public. Paolo Nutini’s ripped-throat vocals squeeze passion from every note in a way inevitably reminiscent of the late Sheffield soul man.’ The Telegraph, UK
There is a scratch in Paolo Nutini’s voice millions would kill for. The raw throatiness of it all brings to mind the great sandpaper voices of vintage soul, from Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding to their British imitators, Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker. NY Daily Times
