Day two of Bluesfest.

For day 2 of Bluesfest we were blessed with beautiful weather to set the mode of the day.

Once again impressed with the festival layout that offers easy access to all stages, along with plenty of food stalls and bars, plenty of shelter *should you need it*, amenities aplenty. Overall verdict… fantastic!

Some Of Our Day 2 Highlights

Having seen Tijuana Cartel perform a number of times over the past few years, we were eager to arrive early and catch their 12:30pm set at the Mojo stage. Their style of infused Latin American/Afro Cuban break beat + world music was the perfect way to start the festival day and get you up and dancing.

After watching Beth Hart’s performance on day one of Bluesfest, we couldn’t wait to see her again today. And by the crowd turnout for Beth’s set we weren’t the only ones. Strong, commanding, heartfelt, passionate.

Eric Bibb has been a regular at Bluesfest over the years. Today playing on the Jambalaya stage, his relaxed, engaging stage presence sets you up comfortably for his predominately acoustic blues and folk performance. There is a depth to his set, intimate and compelling.

Joss Stone made her much anticipated return to Bluesfest and she more than delighted her fans. Joss is simply a delight to watch and her stunning voice lifts you up and transports you to what could be musical heaven. Let’s hope she returns to Australia more often.

The Crossroads stage filled early for another legend of the day, Boz Scaggs. Scaggs seemed almost humbled by the size of the crowd as he entered the stage. Then the Grammy award winner lead us on a musical journey of his music, selected favourites spanning from 1976 album “Silk Degrees” all the way through to his latest album “Memphis”. Great music from a great artist.

The Mojo Stage was spilling over with punters eager to see Jack Johnson. Fans squeezing forward against the barriers, mobile phone at the ready recording ever moment and everyone singing along to every song Jack played. Great fun set leaving everyone feeling happy and smiling

Day 3 headliners include Dave Matthews Band, Jeff Beck, Morcheeba, Jimmie Vaughan, John Butler Trio and many more! It’s a huge day and we recommend you get in early to check out a few of the early performances.

Here’s a few suggestions:
Kate Miller-Heidke, Hat Fitz & Cara, Eric Bibb, Skunkhour, Eugene “Hideaway” Bridges… just to name a few.
