Groovin the Moo returns with dates and venues for 2024
Taking in six stops around the country, with a new location for NSW

It’s time to book in your leave, grab your mates and start planning your road trips and festival fits as Groovin the Moo (GTM) returns to six regions around the country in April and May 2024, with a new and exciting venue in NSW.
The GTM tour will kick off in Wayville SA on Thursday 25 April, with a special acknowledgement to pay tribute to our ANZACs. We’re off to our capital city Canberra ACT on Friday 26 April, then down to beaut Bendigo VIC on Saturday 27 April to round out the first weekend.
The following weekend, the festival will head to a stunning new home by the water in Foreshore Park in Newcastle NSW on Saturday 4 May. Groovin then moves up for some sunny Sunshine Coast, QLD action on Sunday 5 May, complete with a long weekend bonus! Last year our first ever Sunny Coast show sold out in just a few days. This year, we’re moving ever so slightly to a more spacious and central venue, the Sunshine Coast Stadium Precinct. The GTM tour then finishes up on the west coast with Bunbury fun in WA on Saturday 11 May.
GTM has called Maitland Showground its home in NSW for many years. But after consistent patron feedback and consultation regarding their transport and accommodation needs, the NSW leg is moving to a location which is much more accessible for most people with plenty of parking and accommodation options.
A GTM spokesperson said;

Whilst Maitland has played a major part in the history of GTM, Newcastle’s transport and accomodation options will provide a better experience for our patrons. Foreshore Park is a stunning location and we look forward to calling it home.”

Some fun facts to get to know our new home. As Australia’s second oldest city and the second most populated city in NSW, Newcastle is known for its thriving creative scene. Boasting more artists than any other city in Australia and claiming the most art galleries per capita, Newcastle is an eclectic mix of beautiful beaches, Victorian architecture, delicious restaurants and great bars. The city is also the birthplace of Moo alumni The Screaming Jets who played the very first GTM back in 2005 and Silverchair who hit the festival stages in 2007 and 2010.
