Due to popular demand, that saw a mass go-go dance-off at the 2008 event in Tasmania, the exclusive hip-happening bayside hustle, The Falls Funk’n’Soul Revue makes a stand in Lorne on December 28! This exclusive, pre-festival par-tay will see an afternoon and evening of the finest funk, soul, bossa-nova & boogaloo, featuring;

From the stages of James Brown, soul-sister#1 Marva Whitney (USA) & The Transatlantics;
The almighty purveyors of local funk and hip-droppin’ grind, The Bamboo’s;
Doing funk of the down’n’dirty variety come Deep Street Soul;
And connecting the hip-to-the-shake, the go-to-the-go and the hip-to-the drop, comes;
The sassy first lady of go-go, DJ Emma Peel;
With his eclectic collection of original 45’s in a multitude of styles, DJ Mohair Slim;
The highly eclectic funk, soul, hip-hop party starter, DJ Kano and Go-go goodness from Anna’s Go Go Academy, to put the funk in your trunk.

JUST CONFIRMED an exciting Australian First –
Perhaps you’ve stumbled across these cats and kittens from hearing their track ‘15 to 20’ on the Bonds ad (you know, the one with the girls on roller skates in their underwear), but The Phenomenal Handclap Band (USA) are a tight-knit eight-member powerhouse aggregation of musicians and artists from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn (featuring members from The Budos band, Antibalas, TV On the Radio, and more) and are an
eye-popping spectacle that overwhelms the senses.

COMEDY returns to The Grand Theatre for some side splitting antics from;
Starring as “Dave” in “Flight of the Concords” and himself when onstage, Arj Barker (USA);
Laconic and deceptively laid back comedian Steve Hughes;
JJJ presenter & ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Tom Ballard; and
Clever funny-man and improv-genius, Xavier Michelidis.
