The Bon Scotts Release ‘Polluted Sea’ – Event News

The Bon Scotts bring their boisterous ramshackle pop to the Grace Darling.

After an exciting summer of festivals and studio time, the 7 piece plays their first headline show since last years sold out album launch in October. With a follow up album on its way, they are ready to venture out into public to show off their new single, Polluted Sea.

With the help of generous funding through Victoria Rocks and The Australia Council for the Arts, The Bon Scotts have been working hard on their sophomore album, after their well received 2010 debut, Oddernity. Frontman R. Zimmerman says of the new single: “it’s a joyously cynical observation on love, satellites and rebellion.”

Driven by a catchy accordion line and propelled by toy piano, mandolin, hand claps, call and response choruses and a hoppy bassline, Polluted Sea is just a small taste of what’s to come on the full album, to be released later in 2011.

Bringing all their clatter and clutter forth from the studio, they are a live act not to be missed. “Live, the Bon Scotts are something to behold, all sweaty and beautiful, trashy and passionate. ” said Tim Burke from online rag, The Dwarf.

The Bon Scotts will be launching the first single from their new album at the Grace Darling, Saturday 21st May, with supports from Oceanics (QLD), The Give and Into the Woods.
