Letting It Go….for the last time in a while!

With a new tour about to start, talent-soaked Gold Coast quartet TIJUANA CARTEL crawled from the wreckage of their Nimbin farmhouse-turned-recording studio this week to the sound of their latest single ‘Letting It Go’ blaring from alternative radio. After three weeks of pressing record, stop and rewind, the band emerged with their new album completed. Housed on laptops and hard drives, the tunes now enter the next phase of their life and have been whisked away to mix-master supremo Magoo for the final spit and polish.

Due for release in mid-September, the as yet untitled third album will be accompanied by the mother of all album tours through September, October and November. But before then you can get your hit of beats, guitars and bongos at three special showcase gigs in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart when the band will celebrate the release of ‘Letting It Go’ and test drive the new songs. Be alert, not alarmed: these will be the band’s final live shows before their national album launch tour begins in September.

Produced by the band’s song writing team of Paul George and Carey O’Sullivan, along with Chris Moore, ‘Letting It Go’ sees a further progression in the band’s recent experiments in sound. “It’s all about a short romance going cold,” says Paul George, the song’s lyricist. ‘Letting It Go’ blows the aural fun-o-meter through the roof and delivers an addictive and hypnotic blend of electronic pop mixed with Tijuana Cartel’s trademark fat beats and rocky grooves.

Tijuana Cartel’s raw and electric energy has blazed a path through venues and festivals throughout Australia and the world. Their live shows bristle with energy and positivity, leaving crowds wanting more dance, more fun, more beats and more grooves…..Tijuana Cartel are not to be missed.
