Liberation Music have announced a headline tour of Australia’s east coast for The Holidays this September and October.
The shows are the band’s first headline performances for 2013 and along with the release of their new single ‘Voices Drifting’, mark their bold return to the local and international music scene. The song has won fans from around the globe since release last week, with 35,000 plays on Soundcloud and the who’s who of the blog world positively smitten.
‘Arena-sized romanticism.’ – Pigeons and Planes
‘Gorgeously uplifting, easily enjoyable music.’ – Mostly Junk Food
‘Pure escapism.’ – The Line Of Best Fit
‘A much more mature sound… the time they’ve taken to produce their new music is clearly paying dividends.’ – Indie Shuffle
Voices Drifting offers fans a glimpse of the band’s new album (due for release in early 2014). The album was lovingly but painstakingly created over the past two years in apartments, studios and hotel rooms across Berlin, London, Melbourne, Paris and Tokyo. It is an opus of isolation and reconnection, a dreamlike state of zen, being alone in a city of millions, fast moving trains, closed eyes in a haze of warm fuzz and an overwhelming rush of blood to the eardrums.
The Holidays’ debut LP ‘Post Paradise’ won the band many an accolade upon release in 2010, marking them as one to watch. Post Paradise took out the coveted Red Bull Award for Best Debut as part of 2011’s Australian Music Prize. It also scooped the award for Best Album at The Age’s annual EG Awards in 2010. Similarly, there were nominations for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Independent Music Awards and for the AMP itself.
‘Voices Drifting’ is out now.
