That’s Cool But Can You Make It More Sh*t?

To coincide with LCD Soundsystem’s Australian tour this month, LCD Soundsystem and DFA present a visual retrospective of their inspired artwork. The exhibition, titled “That’s Cool But Can You Make It More Sh*t?” will be open to the public from Wednesday July 28 until Tuesday August 3, 11am to 6pm daily, at the Tom Dunne Gallery, 11 Little Burton Street, Darlinghurst. On display will be the works by BUREAU and DFA Art Director, Michael Vadino (NYC) as well as work by other contributing artists.

This unique and exclusive display will showcase the original lightning bolt sketch of the DFA label’s logo, a selection of DFA’s commercial artwork, tour posters, invites for DFA’s parties worldwide, and pretty much anything Vadino could get his hands on. In addition there will also be a selection of exclusive material from James Murphy’s collection on display.

Vadino says of the exhibition: “I’m surprised I was able to pull so much stuff together…I was digging around in closets to find this stuff. It’s going to be great for people to see the cohesive aesthetic of everything all together”.

Vadino and Murphy began working together when DFA produced a record for a friend of Vadinos. At Murphy’s request, Vadino designed an invitation for a DFA party, following which a friendship and career-long partnership was forged.

LCD Soundsystem return to our shores in July to support their latest (and final) LP This Is Happening. The record has scored rapturous acclaim across the globe as one of the albums of the year – smart, funny, emotional and visceral – LCD are the intelligent music lover’s band of choice.

Australian remix duo Stereogamous (aka Paul Mac and Jonny Seymour) have remixed the latest single ‘I Can Change’ – remix bundle available digitally on July 23.
