SURES unleash “Waste” and announce September 2013 tour dates

Sydney’s SURES are set to celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP, THE NIGHT HERO WASTE TIME GETTING BETTER (TNHWTGB) out 23 August, on a co-headline tour with Brisbane alchemic all-girl quartet, Go Violets in September for what promises to be a rowdy run of shows.

Making their way through the east coast on five-date run of shows, SURES will be treating punters to a swag of new material, taken from their forthcoming EP.

SURES have also just unleashed the video for their current single ‘WASTE’ out into the world. Directed by newcomer William Colvin, the video captures the frantic energy of the brilliantly crafted, angst ridden, time bomb of a song, and building slowly until reaching a cathartic crescendo. Encapsulating the sentiment of the song, the clip also gives a humble nod to classic 90’s music videos.

Produced by Dann Hume (Alpine, Snakadaktal, Matt Corby, Courtney Barnett, Lisa Mitchell), ‘WASTE’ (Click to listen on Spotify) is the first offering from TNHWTGB and demonstrates the significant development in the band’s song writing and experimentation with the darker side of their sound.

It’s been a busy 12 months for SURES after dropping their debut EP Stars, a release full of 90’s flavoured indie dream pop, featuring the singles ‘Poseidon’ and ‘Stars’. Since then, the band has split their time between touring the country alongside bands such as Best Coast, Real-Estate, Wavves, The Cribs, Vampire Weekend, Snakadaktal and Bleeding Knees Club, and writing and recording.

SURES will be playing at The Standard in Sydney on 16 August with Glass Towers before heading out on tour with the Go Violets. Don’t miss your chance to catch SURES, one of the country’s most intriguing and, no doubt, acclaimed young bands!
