“In between harmonious choruses, R&B-esque verses and angelic sighs, it all just seems so effortless for her, a true indication of a girl with talent.” ~ Indie Shuffle
“If you listen to her debut The Love Club, though, you’ll notice that this isn’t a one-trick gimmick. Those deep swoops of melody and souped up bass drums that sound like they’ve been parsed through a bitcrusher are noticeable on every single track.” ~ One A Day
“A collection that sounds utterly contemporary while commenting on the moment with clear eyes” ~ Pigeons and Planes
“Everything about Lorde’s five-track debut EP oozes class” ~ NZ Herald

Age may have tamed the 2000 or so PiL fans that filled the Hi-Fi bar in Brisbane last night, but it hasn’t tamed John Lydon, PiL’s founder and front man. As soon as John hit the stage and opened his mouth, it was clear that immense energy flows loud and strong from this man. With slightly eerie vocal tones and his head tilted back, John summonsed his voice and cast it out over the crowd getting us ready for the ride ahead. Almost like a call to prayer, with the opening song This Is PiL. He quickly and gracefully dealt with Thatcher’s passing during this song by singing “I wish no one any evil… goodbye Maggie” which inspired cheering from the crowd.
