Following the release of single ‘Voices Drifting’ last week, The Holidays have announced their first shows of 2013, Sydney show on Thursday 19 September at Good God, Melbourne show on Thursday 3 October at Northcote Social Club followed by Brisbane show on Saturday 12 October at Alhambra Lounge.

Confirmed to support at these three shows are friends, Major Leagues.

Voices Drifting offers fans a glimpse of the band’s new album (due for release in early 2014). The song has won fans from around the globe since release last week, with thousands of plays on Soundcloud and the who’s who of the blog world positively smitten.

Michael Winslow appeared on Norwegian talk show, “Senkveld med Thomas og Harald,” and performed an insanely awesome cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” using only an acoustic guitar accompanist and his vocal instrument.

Australian band Little Scout has completed work on their second record, Are You Life, due out in September 2013. Self-produced and recorded at various locations in their hometown of Brisbane, the record reflects the more muscular, distorted sounds that the band has developed in their live show sinc e the release of their critically acclaimed debut, Take Your Light (2011).

Mixed by Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids, Deap Vally, The Mars Volta) and mastered by Joe LaPorta of Sterling Sound in New York, Are You Life is a stunning work of dense arrangements, layered distortion and striking vocal melodies.

Day 3: Ekka’s first weekend

Day two of the show was filled with sunshine and pomp and ceremony during the day and a 360 degree blaze of colour, surround sound, fireworks, speed bike action and pop singers at night. In a day of dignitaries the Governor of Queensland officially opened the Royal International Convention Centre and the Governor-General officially opened the Ekka.
