It’s Not The End Of The Road Tour – Summer 2012

IT’S NOT THE END OF THE ROAD TOUR – Summer 2012

Adelaide’s Kelly Breuer and Toowoomba’s Bart Thrupp are heading out on tour with some feel good folk to lighten the doomsday mood of the imminent ending of the world.

After a chance meeting at Australia’s BigSound Conference in September, these two happy go lucky folk singers found common ground in their music, telling stories that bring out the lighter side of life. Both armed with successful releases from this year, the pair set upon stages together to give 2012 a great send off.

Bart Thrupp is a storyteller at heart. Kicking off 2012 in Tamworth as a finalist of the Telstra Road to Discovery Competition and then swinging by the Bluesfest Busking Tent, Bart was a hit with punters and industry alike. He soon hit the road for a mighty 20 date East Coast Tour, from Brissy to Adelaide and back, followed by a set at the Caloundra Music Festival in September supporting the likes of Trombone Shorty and John Butler Trio. Combining a collection of organic and acoustic instruments, Bart’s single Everything You Own is the second release in a series of singles. With echoes of Paul Kelly, this song clearly demonstrates Bart’s ability as a songwriter and storyteller.

Kelly Breuer’s story telling lounge sound has led to reviews such as “…[her music] has the ability to lift you up and put you in a happy place” and “…you could hear why she has been compared to Missy Higgins… My ‘plus one’ reckoned Kelly was better!” The title track and first single from her debut EP “Smile, it’s Free” entered the Air It Charts at #3, was added to rotation on over 40 radio stations around the country and track Good People getting a spin on Triple J’s “Roots ‘n All”.

Joining forces and hitting the tour van, these two optimistic souls are looking forward to forging a new path together, reaching new audiences and cultivating those they have already built. Their shows are guaranteed to feature an array of their instrumental carriage, showcasing their versatility. With shows strewn from Adelaide to Brisbane, you are guaranteed to be able to catch them along the way.
