Guards of May have been keeping their latest song ‘Numbers’ a closely guarded secret – UNTIL NOW.
Their latest track, recorded at Loose Stones studios on the Gold Coast with Tyse Lee, is them at their sharpest – a dynamic, melodic, hook-laden track that is anything BUT by the numbers.
They will release the track to fans online Friday October 4th, with tour dates to follow – Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and more, with some of Australia’s best Alternative/Progressive rock acts.
That’s not all – to celebrate the release of Numbers – Guards of May will be releasing exclusive video footage of the recording and special insights into the band and their writing process and an inside look into the band itself. They will release one video a week from the 4th September to the 25th September through their YouTube Channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/guardsofmay
Numbers is a kinetic, melodic track that is awash with thumping bass lines, vigorous drum patterns and vocal hooks and talents reminiscent of Placebo’s Brian Molko.
Guards of May are: Richo Harvey – Vocals, James Harden – Bass Guitar, Levi Russell – Drums, Damien Salomon – Guitar and Keita Neralic – Guitar. Levi is a brand new addition to the band in 2013. His addition has defined their new, heavier, more progressive, but nonetheless catchy flavour.
Guards of May’s fast-paced, yet rightful rise in the alternative scene has seen them quickly sharing the stage with some of the cream of Australian rock – Dead Letter Circus, Grinspoon, Spiderbait, Breaking Orbit, Electric Horse and Strangers in venues all over the country – The Zoo, Eaton’s Hill, Oxford Arts Factory, Revolver (Melbourne), The Hi-Fi (Brisbane),Cambridge Hotel (Newcastle) and more. This tour sees them expand that list of bands and venues.
The past year has seen success in other areas too – the film clip for their debut single “Control” was nominated for the 2012 Australian Film Editor’s Guild Autodesk Award, along with the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, Guy Sebastian and Ball Park Music, as well as gaining a ‘highly commended’ in the 2013 Queensland Music Awards.
Numbers will be available from iTunes and the bands Bandcamp page from October 4th and watch https://www.facebook.com/guardsofmay for ticket prices and details.
