Vivid Sydney 2012 Imogen Heap @ Sydney Opera House – 29 May 2012

As part of her visit for the 2012 APRA Song Summit, Imogen Heap will perform a series of stripped back renditions of songs from her globetrotting, in-progress album – 6 songs in 60 minutes – giving fans the chance to interact with the award-winning singer-songwriter and gain a unique insight into the stories behind each song. This early evening recital will be set in the intimate and picturesque surrounds of the Concert Hall northern foyer.

Now at the peak of a diverse career spanning 15 years, Heap is using her knowledge of the web and social networking to communicate and collaborate in pioneering ways, eschewing the constraints of recording and touring cycles. Releasing a song every 3 months for the past year, the Heapsongs series has become invariably connected with the unique projects and locations she has found herself in – ranging from visits to India, China and Bhutan to developing an app for the upcoming Olympic Games.

For this chamber performance, Heap will showcase songs from her evolving album with the sole accompaniment of a piano and series of projected works, sharing each inspiration, location and experience in a uniquely personal performance for Vivid LIVE 2012.
