VIOLENT SOHO album release + homecoming tour dates

Brisbane-reared, Brooklyn-based noise merchants Violent Soho have announced long awaited homecoming dates to celebrate the release of their self titled new album.

Violent Soho’s self titled album is being released worldwide in 2010 via Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace label and is without doubt one of the most powerful rock albums you will hear this year. Lead single ‘Jesus Stole My Girlfriend’ is already causing major waves on radio stations across the globe, and currently sits in the Billboard Top 40 rock songs chart and the Canadian Top 20 airplay chart.

The album was produced by the highly respected Gil Norton (Pixies, Jimmy Eat World, Echo & The Bunnymen, Foo Fighters) and has already impressed local critics with a slew of brilliant reviews surfacing over the past week. Blunt magazine calls it “the second coming of teen spirit”, while the Sunday Herald Sun raves “heaving guitar riffs, musical mood swings, and a relentless approach spells the emphatic arrival into the rock world by exciting Brisbane newcomers Violent Soho”.

Songs like monolithic album opener ‘Here Be Dragons’ and the twisted fury of ‘Muscle Junkie’ seethe with power, the acoustic ‘Outsider’ indicates the band can deliver the knockout blow even with the volume turned down, while ‘Narrow Ways’ glides with effortless simmering tension that is sure to get under your skin.

Violent Soho’s already famed live shows have been further honed on back to back US tours with Dinosaur Jr, Built to Spill and The Bronx in recent months, and the lads are eagerly awaiting a chance to get back in front of local audiences. These shows will be explosive to say the least, so get in early to find out just why these unassuming Aussie lads are considered one of the most exciting and venomous new guitar bands in the world.
